After making your way through Reykjavik to Reykjavik domestic airport, you will depart and set out on your day tour to Kulusuk!

On a small mountainous island lies Kulusuk, surrounded by traveling icebergs and sky high mountain tins. Kulusuk will be your destination of the day and will none the less surprise you with its beauty and Inuit culture.

The flight to Kulusuk, is an adventure worth in itself, as you will be confronting the East Greenlandic mountain peaks in eye height, high above the ice filled waters. The flight is the most scenic and mesmerizing journey imaginable.

Kulusuk is the gateway to East Greenland and this small settlement is an excellent introduction to the way of life in Greenland. Today about 375 inhabitants live in the village. For them traditional hunting and fishing is still essential, but now tourism and service industries are also becoming increasingly important. The Inuit hunting culture is much in evidence in the village and many still rely on dog sledges and harpoons for hunting, although more modern means have also been adopted.

When arriving in Kulusuk you will be guided around the city. The hike is approximately 30-40 minutes long. When exploring, experiencing and examining Kulusuk, meet one of the locals and view either their freshly caught walrus, whale, seal or fish or their traditional handicrafts. In Kulusuk you will find some of the east coast's most skillful craftsmen, whose tupilaks are of exceptional quality.

You will hear the traditional drum dancing and singing show, before returning to Iceland.
