Come along this interesting journey around the Nanortalik area! On this tour you will be exploring abandoned mines of graphite and gold, you will be fishing for trout and visit a branch of the Greenland ice cap.

After making your way through Nanortalik to the harbour, you will be met by your captain. Your captain of the day will brief you of the schedule and the security precautions that apply sea adventures.

Your adventure starts with you and your fellow explorers venturing out of Nanortalik habour, here you have 6 hours of exploring ahead of you in the presence of migrating icebergs and traveling humpback whales. Stand on deck and let the arctic winds play with your hair or sit in the heated salon with a panorama view of the Greenlandic seas.

First stop of the day will be the abandoned lead mine. The mine is a standing proof of history, as the mine was used from 1915-1924. 6000 tons were produced in the mine and today the mine still haunts the area, as the existence of the mine is still visible.

From here you and your fellow explorers venture to the abandoned goldmine Nalunaq. The gold mine place is surrounded by enchanting valleys circumscribed by sky high mountain tins.

The mining of gold was established in 2003, and produced up till 11 tons of gold. The mine has been abandoned since 2013, and you will be able to roam the area, in the only company of your captain and fellow explorers.

After exploring the enchanting goldmine, you will sail to Kangikitsoq. Kangikitsoq is famous for its mesmerizing mountains. The sky high mountain tins are covered by snow, and resembles the Egyptian pyramids. In the beautiful surrounding, you will be fishing for trout!

Final stop of the day will be Sermesuaq Iigartartoq, the calving ice brink. When arriving at the glacier, you will overwhelmed with its enormous size. But this branch is yet a small part of the Greenland ice cap, that covers 80 % of the country. Stand in the blue and white nuanced rays of the soaring glacier, and take in this truly unique experience!
