You will visit the local shop and a tiny museum, which run by a local family and displays different things from the area.

You will have some time in the village. After that, the trip continues with a speedboat trip to the Qinertivaq Fjord. On the way you will sail past beautiful icebergs and mountain landscapes. The bottom of the fjord is where you will spend the first night. The camp will be set up in this remote, magnificent landscape where tall granite mountains shield the camp.

Sun Gate, Trout Lake and Sermilik Icefjord

Good morning - you are not dreaming, even though the beautiful landscape you wake up to might resemble something from a dream. You are still in East Greenland!

You will have breakfast and pack the camp before the tour continues. The first hike will be towards the Sun Gate mountain by the Trout Lake and continue to the south end of the lake, enjoy the reflection of the tall mountain peaks in the lake. There will be some opportunities for breaks to enjoy the view and take pictures on the way.

After crossing a small river the hike will continue down a narrow valley with tall mountains towering up on the sides. Even though the place might sound rather deserted with the rough granite landscape, you will also encounter vegetation. The arctic vegetation is rich with the arctic willows, craw berries, blueberry bushes and arctic flowers.

In the afternoon the view of the great Sermilik Icefjord will start appearing up in the west. You will see icebergs of all sizes filling up the huge fjord and far on the horizon you can get a glimpse of the Greenland Ice Cap.
