Travel 2,5 hours outside Nuuk, and you will find the mesmerizing Nuuk ice fjord. You will travel between ice filled passages, with sky high mountains circumscribing the waters.

The arctic winds will long to play with your hair, and pebbles of salt water will lightly dub your cheeks. The journey to the ice fjord is an adventure in itself. You will dock at the bottom of the remote Kapisillit fjord, and venture into the wild, vast and wonderful arctic tundra, in the presence of arctic wild life such as caribou, the white tailed eagles and foxes. The 45 minute hike, will lead to the icefjord. Enjoy a well-deserved lunch will sitting in the soaring of retracting icebergs, with an outstanding view. Before returning to Nuuk, you will be given a rare and unique insight to the daily life in a Greenlandic settlement. In Kapisillit you will be attending a traditional celebration called, Kaffemik. All sorts of cake and coffee will be served.

This tour is on our boat “Ice Force Two”. This is a small open POCA boat. The boat is specially made for the Greenlandic conditions and is one of the favorites among local hunters and fishermen.

Good to know:

When traveling with the open Poca dinghy, there is no cabin, there for warm clothes are advisable.

It is possible to bring your own food, but save the trouble and order a sandwich or a lunch plate in the booking process.

The boat brings minimum 3 passengers, and maximum 6. If there are less than 3 passengers booking upon departure day, the trip will be cancelled and you will receive your money back.
