Jig Fishing | Sisimiut | West Greenland
Come along this jig fishing trip which is paired with sailing in the neighboring waters of Sisimiut. Combining two of the most popular activities in Greenland, this tour is for anyone who loves Greenland's unique landscapes, from the fruitful arctic tundra to the savage waters!
This tour takes you on an exciting adventure with fishing and quite-ness. Taking you out on the crystal blue water whilst you can hear the motor working through the waves and water splashing, you can enjoy the fresh breeze and sun on your face with the smell of salt of the water.
The captain and his crew will happily help you, if this is your first time fishing and teach you how to rinse and gut the fish you catch. If nothing has been caught after the first 5 minutes, you will sail to change location - but this rarely happens, as the greenlandic seas are rich on fish. Catching fish in Greenland is surprisingly easy and extremely rewarding, when you feel something on the other end of your fish string. Depending on how deep your long line is, seeing the fish appear from the deep, with its gleaming shell. No previous experience with fishing is not required.
There will be handouts of jigs and small bags. You will probably hear some stories while waiting for your catch, a great way to spend a day and not at all demanding. You get to see nature from another angle and just enjoy the silence around you, and the chills of excitement when a fish is hooked.
