Arctic Circle Trail hike | Sisimiut
Ups it looks like this tour is no longer available but you can find alternative tours in Sisimiut here!
Discover the backcountry around Sisimiut on this hike to the end/beginning of Greenland's most famous long-distance hiking adventure - the Arctic Circle Trail.
We will go by car to our start point at the lake and creek, where we will fill our bottles with fresh Greenlandic water (some of the purest in the world) for our journey.
Then we will follow the trail through the valley and into a wilderness surrounded by mountains, including the impressive Nasaasaaq peak. Depending on the season, we may have the opportunity to stop and taste crowberries, smell arctic wildflowers, and discover the scents and colours of the delicate Arctic flora. Our destination is an amazing viewpoint over Sisimiut, where we will enjoy our packed lunch taking in the dramatic scenery. On our way back we will take a slightly different route and walk through "dog town" where most of Sisimiut's Greenlandic sled dogs are kept.
