I love these colorful evenings that we are getting during fall.
In the northern part of Greenland, we have midnight sun during the summertime and polar nights during the winter time. When the sun starts to set again after 2-4 months of constants sun (depending on where in Greenland you are) we can start to enjoy these beautiful colors that are telling us the winter is coming. It is a special feeling at this time of year when you go out in the morning and can feel the colder air and smell the freshly fallen snow. The evenings are even more special, when having a walk in the calm surroundings, and your chicks are getting colder while the sky is getting colorful.
I took this picture down by the harbor in Qeqertarsuaq, when I was walking home from work around 7 pm. These to boys were fishing and playing down by the water in a calm September evening. What a playground huh?! :-)
We might don´t even think of it, but these evening walks in these surrounding are our natural way of meditating. I just love it! :-)
This picture is taken three weeks in September around 7 o´clock pm, right before the sky got really red,
They have dog sled dogs here in Qeqertarsuaq, as well as the rest of the towns and villages which are north of the Polar circle.
