21st of June is the longest day in a year and has been the National Day of Greenland since 1983.
It is a big day for the country, and many shops are closed on this day. The day begins with service in the churches, and thereafter there is a full program with different events in the museums, sports halls, and the culture houses, etc.
People with their national clothing (like mine in the picture), happiness, singing and dancing, and the smell of a bonfire. What a day!
Many families go on a boat tour, or a hike in nature with tents and spend their day off, celebrating with families and friends.
