Ittoqqortoormiit betyder “der hvor der er store huse,” og har ca 450 indbyggere. Omr\u00e5det er noget af det smukkeste natur jeg nogensinde har set i landet.\u00a0Der er kun to byer i \u00d8stgr\u00f8nland, da her er meget barskt vejr og korte somre. Man kan kun komme til Ittoqqortoormiit med helikopter eller privat b\u00e5d.\u00a0 Byen er fra 1925, hvor folket oprindeligt kom fra Ammassalik, som idag hedder Tasiilaq, den anden by i \u00d8stgr\u00f8nland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Der blev dengang \u00e5bnet et nyt koloni i Ittoqqortoormiit, hvor man flyttede i alt 87 mennesker fra Ammassalik, for at starte stedet op.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Der er ingen asfalt men grusveje, s\u00e5 de lokale kommer rundt med ATV\u00b4er.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Der er et supermarked, en skole, kirke, museum turiskontor og en sportshal. Der kommer kun skib med varer 2 gange om \u00e5ret, og efter en lang vinters\u00e6son, l\u00f8ber alle ned til havnen n\u00e5r skibet ankommer. Velkommer det skib som kommer med al mad, slik, og ting til hjemmet, eller dele til ATV samt b\u00e5den. K\u00e6mpe festdag!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kirkeg\u00e5rden er anderledes end andre steder i Gr\u00f8nland. Her d\u00e6kker man kisten til med store flade sten, da der ikke er meget jord men kun klipper.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ittoqqortoormiit ligger t\u00e6t op af verdens st\u00f8rste naturpark,\u00a0 nationalparken, samt ved mundingen af verdens l\u00e6ngste fjord. Meget smukt omr\u00e5de!\u00a0Jeg var s\u00e5 heldig at arbejde p\u00e5 et krydstogskib som sejlede igennem denne lange smukke fjord, samt langs \u00f8stkysten.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vi vandrede meget og sejlede rundt i smukke omgivelser! Turisme er et voksende erhverv i \u00d8stgr\u00f8nland, og herunder ogs\u00e5 jagt turisme. Der er ogs\u00e5 mulighed for at arrangere bygdebes\u00f8g til Uunarteq (Kap Tobin) og Itterajivit (Kap Hope).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Man kan flyve via Island til Constable Pynt, og derefter med helikopter eller b\u00e5d til Ittoqqortoormiit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Naturen er enorm i \u00f8stkysten, med h\u00f8je vilde bjerge. Virkelig et sted man kan f\u00f8le et med naturen og opleve noget helt unikt fra resten af verden!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
