It's always hard to say goodbye, especially when you feel there's so much you wished you had seen or done before leaving. And although we hadn't been in Ilulissat for very long, I still felt somehow connected to it. I felt that I needed more time, but there was nothing we could do about it. Just as it began, it would also have to end.

So, what do you do when you only have a short time before getting to the airport? Well, you take in as much as you can, while you can. The first thing we did was go out to my favorite spot.

I loved returning to the same spot the entire time we were in Ilulissat which seems so long ago. It's only a small picture of what my time was like, but it was still a favorite.
After snapping a few shots on my phone and my camera, we headed back to the room to check our bags again and have one last look out the window. Soon, we made our way to the lobby and waited for the shuttle to the airport. The shuttle came too soon, lol. I wanted time to stand still so that we wouldn't have to leave, but such is life.
Once we reached the airport, we went inside and waited because it wasn't time to check-in yet. Being the photography obsessed person I am, I went outside for more last looks. It was only supposed to be a short time, but it's easy to get caught up in the moment and lose track of time. But when you see things like the following, can you blame me?

I told myself that I'd only take a few shots, and what I'm posting here is just that, a few ;-)

And then there was this one....

I simply couldn't pull myself away. I walked a little closer, just for a better shot. But each time I said I was done, I walked farther. What was there to worry about? The airport was right behind me. It would have been wrong not to see as much as I could.

I was about to walk up a hill when I turned and saw my husband standing outside. It seemed he was trying to get me to return. Honestly, he ruined the "mood". I was lost in my surroundings, loving every bit of it.

Other than what I saw from the plane, the above was my last look at this stunningly beautiful site. It was time to let go of the dream, and time to imagine a new dream...a return trip.

I'm not sure when, but I will see it again someday. I have to!
