The flight starts from Ilulissat Airport. Before departure, you will be briefed by Air Zafari's skilled pilot. The pilot will orientate you about the planned route and flight conditions. On the way to the plane, the pilot seats the participants. You might be seated in the front with the pilot, or at the back together with your fellow explorers. Regardless of where you are seated, there is a guarantee of great views from the large windows in the plane. Well, onboard the pilot goes through the safety instructions and asks you to take on your headset, through which you can communicate.

Immediately after take-off, the great view will appear for you. We'll fly to the closest glacier, known as the northern glacier and then fly out over the Icejord the icebergs will appear in all imaginable shapes and sizes, some reaching a height of 100 meters above sea level. When you fly over the giant icebergs you will get close to them in a different way and sometimes you will see small azure blue lakes with melted water on the icebergs. There is a never ending flow of icebergs coming through the fjord on their way to the sea and every day the sight is different. You might also be lucky to spot a whale while flying.

Day trips may sell out closer to your arrival date, but for popular destinations, certain dates/times can also sell out months in advance. We recommend that you secure all of your experiences by booking them well in advance of your trip.
