A great tour. The booking confirmation detailed the meeting time and location which was at the "Ilulissat Adventure" office. This is easy to find near the harbour, at the end of a main road in Illulisat. The staff and crew were great! Friendly and helpful. Due to the open "zodiac" style of boat we were given warm suits to wear for protection. I was travelling solo but another solo passenger was an 80 year old lady. The Ilulissat Adventure team took very good care of her, making sure she got in and out of the boat safely etc. We quickly made our way to the massive icebergs and got as close as safety would allow. Such an impressive natural sight. We toured around the ice flow for a while ejoying the natural beeuty of it all but unluckily for us the weather was slowly getting worse and reached a point where all passengers agreed it was time to go back to the harbour. Despite the rain and getting wet this was a great experience and tour provider.

Thie Eqi Glacier day tour is an excellent day trip. Once I had completed Guide to Greenland online booking, I was sent a confirmation email, along with details of where and when the meeting point was, which was very easy to find in Ilulissat. After check in, myself and other passengers were driven in a minibus to board the boat. The boat was big and sturdy with lots of room for everyone and had a well heated main seating area. Two guides were onboard and they were very friendly and provided information about various points along the way, in Danish and English. The guides were always approachable if you wanted to ask a question. The scenery along the way was fantastic and there also comes a point where the ice rated boat was pushing it's way past smaller icebergs, with lots of clanking noises. This was quite exciting for some of us and definitely worth video recording! The Eqi glacier was beautiful to see and we saw several small calvings, which made thunderous rumbling noises. The boat kept a safe distance from the glacier. Some food was provided, pasta and boiled potatoes as was tea, coffee, water but you can bring your own too. We dropped off some passengers who were staying at the Eqi Lodge and picked up some more returning from the lodge. The boat then set off pushing it's way through the small icebergs on the way back to Ilulissat. We saw three whales during the day. I would recommend warm clothing with good wind resistance if you want to spend much time out on deck taking photographs etc.

Incredibly beautiful and enjoyable cruise! Our guide and captain, were kind, knowledgeable, and friendly. We enjoyed the ride. It was nice being able to sit inside the cabin and also step outside to look closely at the icebergs. What a wonderful excursion!

This was our first tour in Greenland and just seeing the scenery on the way was fantastic. The Guide ( I believe Heidi ) was so very informative along the way. We arrived at the puffin island and there were hundreds of birds. We had time to see a lot of activity and take plenty of photos. Our captain Millu was fantastic. He took us very close to our first iceberg sighting and we had lots of time to take many photos and enjoy this magnificent site!! He did an exceptional job.
I highly recommend this tour!!!

This was an outstanding tour. Both the captain and the guide were very informative and helpful. It’s interesting to walk around the island and see how the people lived. And we stopped at a couple of very scenic spots on the way home. This is a don’t miss tour.

The “Catch N Eat” experience in Greenland is more than a tourist activity—it is a profound cultural and ecological immersion that embodies the intersection of Indigenous knowledge, sustainable living, and cross-cultural connection. From the moment we set out on the frigid yet crystalline waters, our small group of eager participants was invited not only to witness but to partake in a tradition as old as the Arctic coastlines themselves: fishing for survival, for sustenance, and for shared memory.

The catch—healthy specimens of cod and vibrant ocean perch—was abundant and exhilarating to reel in. These moments, filled with laughter, encouragement, and gentle competition, reflected the deeply human joy of harvesting one’s own food. Yet what elevated this outing into the realm of scholarly significance was the shoreline demonstration that followed. There, an experienced local fisher expertly filleted our catch in front of a rapt audience, narrating the process with insight rooted in generations of lived experience. It was a tactile education in anatomy, resourcefulness, and respect for the land and sea.

The walk from the shore to the seaside “tester aunt” (tasting tent) was as breathtaking as it was symbolic—a literal and metaphorical journey from nature’s raw offering to communal nourishment. The landscape was a textbook of glacial geology and Arctic flora, while the social environment was a case study in emergent kinship. Newfound friendships were forged not through convenience but through shared awe, and gratitude.

This excursion merits academic attention as a model for experiential, land-based learning. It holds potential as a pedagogical template for sustainable tourism, intergenerational teaching, and the preservation of Arctic lifeways. In short, Catch N Eat is not simply a tour—it is a living classroom.

Puffin Island Excursion – A Journey Worth Every Feathered Moment

To anyone who doubts the magic of visiting Puffin Island off the coast of Greenland—I must respectfully disagree. This wasn’t just a sightseeing trip. It was a life-affirming experience, shared with an incredible crew and fellow guests who brought curiosity, warmth, and humor to every moment.

The migratory birds—especially the puffins—were nothing short of awe-inspiring. Watching them dive, soar, and nest in the rugged cliffs was like witnessing a choreographed ballet, one only nature could compose. Some might say, “It’s just birds.” But if you’ve ever seen thousands of wings slicing through Arctic wind beneath a golden sky, you’d know it’s never just birds.

Our crew’s deep knowledge and respect for the environment elevated the journey, offering stories and insight that brought the landscape to life. Every detail, from the smooth navigation across the Labrador Sea to the shared meals and laughter on deck, made it unforgettable.

So to the skeptics—I say go. Let the wind tangle your hair, let the silence of the sea humble you, and let the puffins show you why this island deserves your wonder.

I am glad I did this, but there was not a lot guiding. The guide arrived late for the start. The equipment was not very recent. The participants were not on a similar level, they have to take care of this problem somehow. Two of us handled the kayaking, from the other two one gave up after 2 minutes, the other held us back very much. So two of us paddled away on our own, which is not too safe after all.
Could have just rented kayaks for less.
