Traditional Kaffemik | Ilulissat | Disko Bay
Come along and experience the Greenlandic hospitality at traditional Kaffemik! This tour will fill your belly and warm your heart.
On this tour, you and your fellow explorers will visit one of the local families in Ilulissat. The local family will introduce you to what life is like 300 kilometers above the arctic circle and the Greenlandic culture. They will tell you stories from the old days and what its like to live in a place like this today, in an ever more modern and globalized world. This is a unique opportunity to get close to the nice local people.
At a traditional kaffemik, you will find everything the heart desires. From cakes in all sizes and shapes to freshly baked buns and Greenlandic commodities, such as seal and whale. Greenlandic commodities and specialties are different from any food you have ever tasted before, so we cannot guarantee that you will like it. But we do encourage you to taste it!
