Travel by snowmobile and traditional dog sled through Greenland’s spectacular Arctic wilderness and explore the frozen Ilulissat Icefjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The adventure begins in Ilulissat, where you will meet your guide, receive the necessary equipment and have a short safety briefing. You will then travel as a passenger on the snowmobile towards Aattartoq, enjoying spectacular views of snow-covered landscapes. The snowmobile journey covers approximately 20 km (12 miles) and takes around 1.5 hours.
We will arrive in Aattartoq, where the hunters’ and fishermen’s hut is located. Here the UNESCO World Heritage area starts, so we will change from a snowmobile to a dog sled!
We will start our 2.5–3-hour dog-sledding adventure, which will take you through spectacular winter landscapes towards the impressive glacier front. You will enjoy gliding quietly across the sea ice, surrounded by snow-covered mountains, frozen fjords, and untouched Arctic nature.
After the dog sled ride, you will return to the Aattartoq area and head back to Ilulissat by snowmobile, with another 1.5 hours to enjoy the peaceful Arctic scenery from the passenger seat.
