Join us for an exciting day on the Greenland Ice Sheet, where you will experience a mix of tundra safari while driving to the ice sheet and walking on the ice. It is one of the easiest places in Greenland to reach the ice sheet by road!
We start our journey in Kangerlussuaq, driving through beautiful natural scenery for 37 kilometers until we reach the edge of the Ice Sheet. From there, we will walk up and down to the glacier, where there is about a 15-minute walk over very uneven and rocky terrain each way.
Finally, we will step onto the Greenland ice sheet. We will stay in the safe area on the edge of the ice sheet where there are no dangerous crevasses. You won’t need crampons on this trip.
This tour is private, so you will have a great time alone with the guide. It is your tour; it gives you flexibility and freedom. Just as your guide to stop if you see an animal or the view you would like to take a picture of. This tour is conducted in a 4×4 vehicle and is suitable for solo travelers or small groups of up to four people.
Led by a local guide who knows the area well, this tour offers stunning views, untouched nature, and a truly unique experience.
Add the Russell glacier visit to this tour in the booking process and see the most you can in Kangerlussuaq in a short period. It is perfect if you have limited time and you want to see as much as you can!
The tour to Point 660 will last 4-5 hours, a combination tour with Russell Glacier could last 5-7 hours, depending on road conditions.
Please note:Â Your pick-up time can change on departure day +/- 1 hour, due to weather and road conditions and delayed flights for other guests on the day. If that is the case, you will be contacted by email or phone.Â
