Come along this mesmerizing hike! Combining the arctic tundra, hiking, and ancient Inuit history, always make for great adventures. This is a tour for you who enjoy all arctic wonders, from the Greenland ice cap to high mountains!
Your adventure starts, when you stroll through the beautiful town of Ilulissat to Kussangajaannguaq 7. From here you will depart with your boat shuttle of the day, and venture into the savage oceans of Disko Bay. When arriving in Ilimanaq, you will meet your guide at Ilimanaq lodge. It is also possible to join the adventure from Ilimanaq!
You will venture along unmarked paths and trails, that requires a good pair of hiking boots. You will be heading out into the backcountry of Ilimanaq, and chronically be surrounded by magnificent views.
As you venture into the wild, wonderful and vast arctic tundra, with the mission of reaching abandoned settlements and ancient cemeteries from a time almost forgotten – you will be overwhelmed by the infinite nature of Greenland.
The guide will brief you about the area and answer any further questions you might have, as the guide knows the lands, like the palm of his own hands. Explore the arctic herbs and search for vanished ages in the grounds. We might be lucky to spot Arctic Fox or Muskox.
You and your fellow explorers will head to a viewpoint, close to the Ilulissat Icefjord where you will be able to see impressive icebergs that have drifted ashore. On a day with clear skies, you will be able to see 65 kilometres away to a branch of the Greenland ice cap. This is a perfect location for lunch whilst glancing far and beyond the mesmerizing views. After a suitable amount of time of picture taking, you will be picked up by a boat and be transported back to Ilimanaq.
