Set out on a journey across fjords, glaciers, and remote villages, traveling the traditional way by dog sled. This tour follows the historic Hunters’ Track, where local drivers guide you through East Greenland’s dramatic winter landscape.

Follow in the footsteps of generations of Greenlandic hunters on this eight-day winter journey. Traveling by dog sled with local drivers, you will experience the traditional way of moving across the frozen landscape while snowmobiles carry luggage, food, and supplies.

The route takes you past the dramatic Aputsiaq Glacier and continues along the ice edge, where hunters demonstrate how seals are caught using age-old techniques. At night, you stay in simple hunting cabins, where freshly prepared seal meat may be shared with both guests and dogs.

Along the way, the sleds bring you to the village of Sermiligaq, where about 200 people live without running water. Here, a local family welcomes you into their home, and you are invited to share a Greenlandic dinner – a rare chance to experience daily life in this northernmost settlement.

The track also leads to the Knud Rasmussen Glacier, where you have the opportunity to try deep-water halibut fishing before resting in small fishing huts. Another highlight is snowshoeing into the surrounding mountains for panoramic views of glaciers and rugged peaks, followed by a sled ride to the immense Karale Glacier.

After days in the wilderness, you return to Kulusuk for comfort and rest. A final day allows you to relax at your own pace before departure. This journey offers a rare insight into East Greenland’s landscapes and traditions – carried by the rhythm of sled dogs and shaped by the life of hunters and fishermen.
