This journey is about moving slowly through some of West Greenland’s most defining landscapes – from the edge of the Greenland Ice Sheet to small coastal towns shaped by sea, weather, and tradition.
You begin inland near the Arctic Circle, where the land opens up into tundra and ice, far from roads and settlements. From here, the journey continues by boat through long fjords and steep mountain scenery before reaching Sisimiut, a town where outdoor life and everyday routines exist side by side.
Rather than chasing highlights, this journey focuses on continuity: spending time in each place, travelling by land and sea, and letting the landscape set the pace. Days are shaped by nature, simple activities, and shared meals – with space to observe, walk, and take it all in.
A journey shaped by landscape, not rush
The route follows natural transitions in West Greenland. Inland plains give way to glaciers and fjords, and eventually to life along the coast. You experience Greenland both as a vast, open wilderness and as lived-in places, where people adapt to the land rather than trying to control it.
Some days are active, others quieter. You travel to the edge of the ice, move through fjords by boat, and explore the landscapes around Sisimiut on foot and by vehicle. At the same time, there is room for rest, reflection, and unplanned moments – which often become the most memorable.
