Arrival in Nuuk & city exploration
Your journey begins as you arrive in Nuuk, where a shuttle transfer, included in your package, will take you directly to Hotel Hans Egede in the heart of the city (if you are arriving that day). This centrally located hotel places you within walking distance of Nuuk’s many attractions while offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
From here, the rest of the day is yours to explore at your own pace. Take a stroll along the vibrant waterfront, visit local cafés, or embark on a short hike in the nearby mountains for breathtaking Arctic views. Whether you choose to immerse yourself in Nuuk’s culture or simply relax and take in the surroundings, your first day sets the stage for the adventure that awaits at Nuuk Icefjord Campthe following day.
Day 2
Into the wild – Sailing to Nuuk Icefjord Camp
Enjoy a delicious breakfast at Hotel Hans Egede, included in your stay, before setting off on your wilderness adventure. At 9:00 AM, you will board a boat and sail deep into the stunning Nuuk Fjord, where icebergs drift, mountains rise from the water, and wildlife thrives – you may even spot whales along the way.
After a scenic journey, you will arrive at Nuuk Icefjord Camp, where two adventurous days await. The camp’s friendly English- and Danish-speaking guides will welcome you, offer a quick tour, and provide essential information for your stay. An ATV will help transport heavier luggage, making arrival effortless. The tents are heated with an electric heater and each tent has a double bed with thick duvets and pillows, towels, and blankets. Built on wooden terraces for maximum comfort, the tents also have two chairs and a table outside, allowing you to sit and take in the breathtaking surroundings.
The rest of the day is yours to explore. Take a hike to a waterfall or scenic viewpoints overlooking the ice fjord, go fishing, or paddle through the fjord by kayak or SUP – all equipment is available at the camp.
In the evening, dinner is served between 18:00 and 20:00 in the large communal tent, where you can enjoy your meal inside or on the outdoor platform with stunning views of the fjord. With no distractions, just the quiet of the Arctic wilderness, this is the perfect place to unwind before another day of exploration.
Day 3
A full day in the Arctic wilderness
Wake up to the crisp Arctic air and the untouched beauty of the surrounding wilderness. Breakfast is served between 7:30 and 9:30, allowing for a slow and relaxed start to the day. With no schedules or distractions, the day is entirely yours to shape.
You can set off on a hike to scenic viewpoints overlooking the ice fjord, follow trails leading to a nearby waterfall, or venture into the mountains for a panoramic view of the fjord’s ever-changing landscape. If you prefer to stay by the water, you can try your luck fishing in the crystal-clear fjord or glide across the still waters on a kayak or SUP, taking in the vast silence of Greenland’s wilderness.
As evening falls, dinner is served in the large communal tent, where you can enjoy a warm meal with a view of the fjord. If you can see yourself unwinding with a glass of wine in the Arctic silence, be sure to bring your own, as alcohol is not provided at the camp. With nothing but the sounds of nature around you, this is the perfect way to end a day of adventure in one of the world’s most remote landscapes.
Day 4
Return to Nuuk & weekend in the Arctic capital
Start your morning with breakfast at the camp, taking in the last quiet moments of the Arctic wilderness. If you want to fit in one final adventure before departure, you can join a guided hike – just let the guides know in advance.
At 14:00, you will sail back through the beautiful fjord, retracing the journey past towering mountains and drifting icebergs. In the afternoon, you will arrive back in Nuuk, where a weekend in the Arctic capital awaits. The evening is yours to enjoy as you like – explore the city, try one of Nuuk’s restaurants, or simply unwind after your days in the wild.
Day 5
Exploring Nuuk’s culture, shopping & scenic coastline and mountain tops
Your final full day in Nuuk is the perfect opportunity to experience the city’s art, shopping, and breathtaking natural surroundings.
Start with a visit to Nuuk Art Museum, housed in a former Adventist church. This intimate museum captures the essence of Greenland through paintings, sculptures, and artifacts that reflect both the vast Arctic landscapes and the deep emotions they inspire. Some pieces tell stories, while others invite you to simply feel and appreciate Greenland’s unique artistic soul.
Afterward, explore Nuuk Center, the city’s largest shopping hub. When it is time to leave, your included shuttle transfer will take you to the airport if you are flying from Nuuk that day, marking the end of your Arctic adventure.
