Best Of Nuuk Fjord | Qoornoq & Kapisillit Boat tour | from Nuuk

This adventure by boat takes you to the two settlements:  Qoornoq and Kapisillit.

As soon as the boat leaves Nuuk, you realize how infinite the Greenlandic nature is.

The sailing trip lasts 6 hours with many opportunities for beautiful pictures of wild, wonderful and vast Greenland.

Our boat tour takes you to the abandoned settlement of Qoornoq. Walking in the deserted settlement takes you back in the history of Greenland. Although some of the houses today are renewed and used as summer cottages, one can easily sense how amazing the place was when it was full of life in the 1900. Behind Qoornoq, you will find the original water supply and the old railways from the former fishing factory. At that time, tons of dried fish were produced here, mostly by manpower.

Next stop, Kapisillit! It is only active settlement in Nuuk fjord where locals live all year round, in 2024 there were 43 registered.

The old, beautiful church is certainly worth a visit if you dont mind walking up he hills. 

Kapisillit is located 75 km from Nuuk, so you can expect that most of the day you will spend sailing, you should have about 30 min in each settlement to get out and take some pictures (time on land depends on the sea and ice conditions, your guide will inform you how much time you have).

Please note: getting out on land could be difficult in Qoornoq settlement, as you usually need to get out from the boats on the rocks, which could be slippery, especially in the wintertime.
