Embark on a unique Northern Lights photo adventure to the abandoned settlement of Qoornoq.

This small settlement, inhabited only in summer, is surrounded by icebergs and rugged mountains. It offers one of the darkest, most dramatic locations for Northern Lights photography, with unusual foreground elements to enhance your shots.

Our adventure begins with a ~1.5-hour night sail through the Nuuk Fjord, gliding past icebergs and mountain silhouettes beneath a sky full of stars. Upon reaching Qoornoq, you’ll have up to two hours to apture the magic of the night sky and Northern Lights. A professional photographer will be there to guide you, sharing tips and techniques to help you get the perfect shot—whether you’re using a high-end camera or just your phone.

You dont need to have a camera to join this tour, you can also join and take pictures with a phone or just enjoy the Northern lights!

Yes, it will be cold! Come prepared with plenty of warm layers, including gloves that let you operate your camera, and warm rubber boots for exploring the icy beach. Hand and foot warmers are highly recommended, and bringing an extra light source to illuminate the icebergs will let you add a creative, dramatic flair to your photos.

Northern lights are natural phenomena so it is not guaranteed that we will see northern lights. But the tour will be canceled if the weather is not suitable to see the Northern lights.

BOOK EARLY
The earlier you book your trip, the better the prices will be, and the more likely you will be able to book the tour you want for the dates/times you want.

Package tours can be sold out more than half a year in advance (note that Guide to Greenland does not include international flights in packages, except where indicated from Iceland or Denmark).

Day trips may sell out closer to your arrival date, but for popular destinations, certain dates/times can also sell out months in advance. We recommend that you secure all of your experiences by booking them well in advance of your trip.
