Day 1
Luxurious Arctic arrival: A personalized journey through Greenland
Your adventure begins with a warm welcome from your private guides upon arrival at Nuuk’s international airport. Your host will accompany you throughout the trip, ensuring every detail is taken care of. After a brief transfer, enjoy lunch at Katuaq, Greenland’s Cultural Center, where you can sample local dishes in the heart of the capital.
Following lunch, you will embark on an 80 km cruise through Nuuk Fjord on an open RIB boat. The journey offers the chance to spot humpback whales while taking in the surrounding natural beauty. You can upgrade to a closed boat or helicopter for added comfort or for aerial views.
Arriving at Camp Kiattua, you will find six heated teepees, each furnished with full-sized beds, Arctic-grade linens, and private bathrooms. The camp also features a hot tub with glacier water, perfect for unwinding after your journey.
Dinner at Kiattua is a gourmet experience, prepared by expert chefs using local ingredients like freshly caught fish and foraged herbs. You will enjoy premium wines and spirits, with the option to pre-order special selections in advance.
The evening ends with drinks by the bonfire, a perfect way to relax after your first day in the Arctic wilderness.
Day 2
Serene beginnings and Arctic adventures: your second day in Greenland
Your second day begins with a relaxed breakfast at the camp. Whether you are in the mood for pancakes with homemade jams or a spread of smoked fish, cheeses, and fresh fruits, your meal is tailored to your preferences and can be enjoyed wherever you like.
Fishing is a fundamental part of life in Greenland, and you will experience it firsthand with a deep-sea fishing adventure in the clear waters around Kiattua. Teeming with cod, flounder, and wolffish, these waters almost guarantee a successful catch. With the expert guidance of your guides - you will likely reel in your first fish within minutes. As you fish, keep an eye out for humpback whales and seals, who also come to feed in these rich waters.
Later in the afternoon, while you practice the ancient art of bonfire making, part of your day’s catch will be prepared into a gourmet evening meal by world-class chefs. As you unwind with a mug of hot chocolate, a glass of wine, or a gin & tonic, more of your catch will be smoked overnight and vacuum-packed, giving you a unique souvenir - a taste of the Arctic to bring home.
Day 3
Elevated explorations and chilling adventures: a day on Uumannaq Island
After breakfast, you will take a short 15-minute boat ride to the secluded island of Uumannaq. From there, you will begin a guided hike to its summit, 420 meters above sea level. As you ascend, you will be immersed in Greenland’s pristine nature - jagged rock formations and vibrant Arctic flowers. At the top, you will be rewarded with panoramic views of the ice fjord, where towering peaks and drifting icebergs create a striking landscape.
At the end of the hike, you will explore a restored 1733 church and enjoy a traditional Greenlandic BBQ of grilled local meats and salad. Instead of using pans, the Inuit traditionally cooked on flat rocks greased with a bit of seal or whale blubber. Our chef will honor this tradition in preparing your meal.
Later in the afternoon, it is time for your polar plunge. We will find the ideal iceberg for you to swim near and stand on, creating the perfect Arctic photograph. Dressed in a survival suit, you will safely experience the exhilarating chill of the icy waters for an extended time without having to worry about the cold.
Back at camp, and after a hot shower, indulge in another gourmet dinner prepared by expert chefs. Then, round out the evening relaxing by the bonfire with drinks.
Day 4
Northward bound: a journey to Saqqaq camp
After one final breakfast in the remote paradise of Kiattua, you will begin your journey to the Saqqaq camp, 500 km north of the Arctic Circle. Your private guides will accompany you every step of the way as you retrace your path through the Nuuk Fjord, board a domestic flight to Ilulissat, and then transfer to the boat dock for your next RIB adventure.
As you glide through icy waters, surrounded by towering icebergs and breathtaking Arctic landscapes, you will immediately notice a shift in scenery compared to what you experienced further south.
Upon arriving at the secluded Saqqaq camp, you will settle into your private Scandinavian-style teepee, thoughtfully designed to blend comfort with the rugged beauty of the area.
In the evening, indulge in another gourmet dinner crafted by expert chefs, featuring locally foraged ingredients and freshly caught seafood. End your first day by the bonfire, sipping Greenlandic coffee under the starry Arctic sky.
Day 5
Echoes of the past: a visit to abandoned Qullissat
After breakfast, you will navigate through iceberg-studded waters en route to Qullissat, an abandoned town on Disko Island that was once a thriving coal mining hub. The mine was shut down in 1968 when it became unprofitable, and the town's residents were forcibly relocated to other parts of Greenland. In 2000, the site was also hit by a tsunami triggered by a massive landslide on the nearby Nuussuaq Peninsula.
As you explore the rusted, faded remnants of what was once one of Greenland’s largest towns, you will gain a deeper understanding of Greenland's colonial history and the forced relocations of the 1960s and 70s that profoundly affected the families it displaced. This journey also serves as a sobering reminder of the power of nature and how swiftly life can change.
Just before dinner, you will be treated to an intimate concert in Saqqaq’s small church with local residents singing traditional Greenlandic hymns. The haunting melodies sung in the Greenlandic language reflect a unique life and culture deeply rooted in this remote land.
Upon returning to camp, indulge in a gourmet dinner prepared by expert chefs, then wind down by the bonfire with drinks, ending your day in perfect relaxation.
Day 6
Arctic immersion: paddling, history, and culinary delights in Greenland
After savoring a gourmet breakfast at camp, embark on a tranquil paddle through the pristine waters of the fjord. Dressed in warm drysuits and life jackets, you will glide between icebergs, fully immersed in the surreal Arctic landscape. As you paddle, listen to the gentle sounds of melting ice and stay alert for whales that often visit the area. A nearby boat crew ensures your safety, allowing you to relax and enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Next, immerse yourself in the rich history of the Saqqaq culture, which dates back to 2500 BC. On a guided walk, explore the remnants of ancient homes and burial sites, uncovering fascinating insights into the daily life and survival of this early Arctic civilization. As you walk through these historical grounds, you will gain a deeper appreciation for the resilience of a people who thrived in this harsh environment.
Back at camp, indulge in a gourmet lunch that showcases the best of Greenlandic cuisine. Dishes such as snow crab, scallops, and reindeer prepared with modern culinary techniques, offer a perfect balance between traditional flavors and innovative presentation.
Then, join in gathering ingredients for dinner as you explore the shores of Disko Bay at low tide and learn the traditional technique of mussel collecting. By focusing on the north side of the rocks, where the mussels remain untouched by sunlight, you will ensure they are at their freshest. As you explore, you will soon discover the perfect spots for harvesting these delicious shellfish.
Later in the afternoon, you will have the chance to meet some of Greenland's iconic sled dogs. Learn about their vital role in Arctic culture, help feed them, and, with luck, meet some adorable puppies before returning to camp for a sumptuous dinner.
Day 7
Arctic farewell: glaciers, wildlife, and the journey back from Greenland
Sadly, after one last gourmet breakfast on this epic adventure, it is time to start your journey back to Ilulissat. But one final unforgettable experience awaits you! As we cruise south through the secluded Ata Strait, the towering Torssukátak and Eqi Glaciers come into view. You will spend two hours enjoying a gourmet lunch while listening to the glacier crack and witnessing massive chunks of ice break off and crash into the fjord with a thunderous roar - a breathtaking demonstration of nature’s raw power.
As you embark on this final leg of your journey to Ilulissat, remember to keep an eye out for whales and seals - as this may be your last opportunity to spot these magnificent creatures for a while. Upon arrival, your guides will ensure you have plenty of time to comfortably reach the airport and catch your flight, bringing your luxurious Greenland adventure to a perfect close.

Pack layered clothing to stay comfortable in changing conditions. Ideally, include a thermal underwear layer (top and bottom), an activity layer (such as hiking pants and a shirt), an insulation layer (like a fleece or down jacket), and a windproof outer layer (top and bottom). While you may not need all layers every day, it's important to have them on hand. Always bring a windproof jacket, regardless of the weather. Keep in mind, it’s often colder at sea than on land, and the wind from the boat’s movement can make it feel even chillier.

Sturdy shoes (e.g. hiking boots)
Sunglasses, sunscreen & sun hat (depending on weather)
Head net and insect repellent (in case of mosquitoes)
Camera with extra batteries
Day pack
