Would highly recommend the northern lights tour vacation package as we had a brilliant few days in Greenland. The package covered accommodation so we didn’t have to find a place to stay ourselves and the selected hotel was great. The package gave time to book other day excursions so we also had a city walk tour and boat trip down the ice fjord which was incredible and scenic. The main attraction was the northern lights tour, however, we were very unfortunate with the weather which meant we could not see anything first night and had to cancel the next night. However the guide, was lovely and informative, giving us a driven tour around Nuuk and explaining each of the places as we hunted the lights. The guide also offered to take us out again on our last night free of charge and was willing to drive everywhere to give us a chance of seeing them and we managed to get a small glimpse between cloud cover which was great! It’s unfortunate the weather meant we could not see a large light display but hunting lights is unpredictable and the guide went above and beyond to make sure we didn’t leave empty-handed! A great trip and highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time on our visit to Greenland. We went at the end of December and expected it to be very cold, so we were prepared. Everyone we met was very warm and welcoming. While we did not see any real Northern Lights, it was not for lack of our guides trying to find them for us. The walking tour was quite the experience, with the extreme cold, but our guide was quite friendly and informative, despite cold and winds that were beyond normal. The fjord tour by boat was incredible. Both of these tours were highlights of our stay. We even got to experience a city-wide power outage that left us with no power our second day in Nuuk and no heat or hot water during the rest of our stay. But, the day the power went out, local residents went out of their way to bring food from their homes to the hotel so we would have something to eat for dinner, again demonstrating how warm and welcoming everyone was that we encountered. On our last day, we also got to experience what we understand can be a not uncommon flight delay, necessitating us having to navigate flight and hotel changes in Reykjavik, but it was all part of the adventure. Prepare for the unexpected and be prepared to just go with the adventure and you will have a great time.
