We had a great boat trip to Oqaatsut, landed on an ice sheet and had a detailed tour of the settlement. After lunch, we had the opportunity to explore the settlement by ourselves for about 30 minutes, during which we could visit the small grocery store. It was really nice to be immersed in the environment which was very different from my everyday life.
However, we had a 1-course lunch instead of a 3-course dinner for the same price, which I think is not fair. The lunch was made from fresh ingredients and was delicious, but nothing exotic.

Had a great time on the tour!
We got transfer with closed boat, comfortable and warm even it was minus degrees outside.
Settlement was really cozy and beautiful, we talk small walk and in the end enjoyed nice lunch!

An excellent insider’s view into a remote settlement. Entry into church and detailed curation about lifestyle and practices of inhabitants in Oqaatsut were rich with details and meaning. The food was more than adequate and the guide’s kindness in serving me hot lemon juice (in view of my wet nose!) was such a delight. It will be good to state clearly that the meal would only be a single course.

Great tour in a real Greenlandic smalltown. Guide is very relaxed. The dinner was truly top notch. Can easily compete with top restaurants in Amsterdam or Copenhagen. Mostly local ingredients. Served by wonderfull host Karen. Thanks!

Fantastic guide who gave us a very thorough interpretation of the landscape. The rich mix of archeological findings, cultural knowledge, ethnology and folklore tied to death , childbirth and living were well-curated. The entire experience wasn’t rushed and we had plenty of time to soak in the setting as well. I did not regret signing up.

The Sermermiut Walking Tour was fairly easy, though my wife was glad she had walking sticks (We are both over 65). Our guide, stopped at several points along the way, to impart a lot of useful information about the three cultures whose artifacts have been discovered in the settlement, and to answer our questions. It took us about 40 minutes to reach the end of our walk, and we will never forget the amazing sight which awaited us. After enjoying the view with a cup of hot chocolate, we headed back over the same route.

My guide came to meet me at my hotel and we went by car to the old heli port where now the fantastic building of the ice museum can be visited. The walk on the wooden path was quite easy although snow and some ice covered it. It was very interesting to learn about which settlements were in this part of Greenland and which cultures had access to different means of living. The landscape is amazing and the place where we had some tea or coffee simply awsome. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience!

FANTASTIC ARCTIC EXPERIENCE! If you are coming at the end of the summer and there are northern light trips available, book them!!! Greenland is one of my favorite places to see the northern lights, since the cities are not so big, and then you do not need to get far away in order to get rid of the light pollution.

The food was more than adequate and the guide’s kindness in serving me hot lemon juice (in view of my wet nose!) was such a delight. It will be good to state clearly that the meal would only be a single course.
