We booked a trip to Russel glacier between our flights. Our guide was lovely and the trip was totally worth it. You need to hike for 30 minutes but get amazing views of the glacier! The car is old but gets you there nicely 🙂

I booked a trip to Sugar Mountain, the waterfall and the great glacier. My guide was Daniel. I enjoyed every minute. Stunning views, the guide was very knowledgeable and explained everything, told me about their culture and life in Greenland. Great fun, recommended for everyone!!

The tour was fine and as expected by us. You are driven on an offroad-like road to the glacier, with a few stops at other interesting points. After a few rainy days, we almost got stuck on the ‘road’ twice and the road is really very bumpy – but there’s no other way to get there and see this huge glacier!

I feel lucky to be one of the few who had visited The Great Russell Glacier by bus from Kangerlussuaq ( Sondre ) the main Airport and gateway in Greenland for international flights I believe. We got a lot of interesting facts from the guide, and fine photo stops, but the most memorable for me, was just standing there and hear the cracking from the glacier, realizing that the wall of ice in front of me, actually are extremely larger and higher than most NY Blocks. Where to? Please take me to the “Glacier Block” on 81’st…. Surreal.

Since we had a flight stop for about 5 hours in Kangerlussuaq, we decided to book the Russell Glacier Tour. We had some problem with our flight and the Guide to Greenland Team got to organize with! We did it on the 21th of February with the Guide Evald! The first contact with Greenland and the amazing Nature!
