The area around Kangerlussuaq is a vast wonderland for every explorer! It is a landscape for the flower enthusiasts, wildlife admirer and those who just want to experience and explore the arctic landscape. This tour will give you the opportunity for all of the above and the joy of visiting a waterfall in Greenland. The tour will take about 4 hours.

Day 2
3 Day Glacier Adventure | Kangerlussuaq - day 2

Glacier & Icesheet

Your adventure starts with you and your fellow explorers conquering the remote dirt roads out of Kangerlussuaq. Kangerlussuaq is situated inland and therefore has a climate diverging itself from the rest Greenland.

Enroute to Point 660 you might be lucky to spot one of the many wildlife creatures from the car. When you and your fellow explorers arrive at Point 660, breathe in the fresh air and gaze upon the enchanting and mythical Greenland Icecap, that ranges as far as the eye can see. The dirt paths coincide with the white majestic ice azure, giving you an excellent chance to explore it with your feet on the ice.

This is a once in a lifetime experience, that does not present itself many other places in Greenland. If the conditions allow, the chauffeur might even drive onto the magnificent ice cap - giving you the best possibilities of a memorable trip.

Tonight we recommend dining at Restaurant Roklubben, a famous restaurant situated a bit outside of the city by a lake. The a la carte menu is excellent but if you come on the right day they'll have a Greenlandic Buffet. You can book a table and transfer with us.

Immediately after take-off, you will see Greenland from one of the very best angles. We are now heading for the amazing Icecap east of Kangerlussuaq, where we on our tour will slide over the fantastic fauna of the inland of Greenland. On the way to the Icecap you will be able to see giant gorges made by the retracting Icecap, and one or two moraines . On the tour you will be able to enjoy the various wildlife beneath you, and before long experience the enormous Ice Cap. On the way back to Kangerlussuaq we fly over "Dessert Valley", an amazing area made by the melting Ice where water flows down the huge rivers.
