A gourmet get-away, is what there is to be found in the abandoned settlement of Qooqqut. We strive to give you an extra ordinary dining experience on an out of town adventure.

When venturing towards Qooqqut on the open boat you will be fishing in the presence of seagulls and other arctic flying wildlife. Stand in the arctic winds, while mastering the art of longline fishing. If satisfied with the catch of the day, try the fish and dish.

Get involved in the process of cleaning, fillet, roasting, steaming and boiling, or leave it in the hands of professional chefs, while exploring. Qooqqut is rich on Greenlandic herbs and geology, the grounds are specked with garden angelica, arctic thyme and berries.

At the mouth of the river you can explore the ancient ruins of the Thule Eskimos and Norse settlements. If the tide is low, take the chance to pick clams or hike the mountainsides surrounding the area. If interested in late history explore the core of the buildings from the late colonial period, on your way back to the restaurant.

The evening feast for you and your fellow explorers will be followed by coffee and tea in the orange rays of the arctic sunset. This tour is on our boat “Ice Force Two”. This is a small open POCA boat. The boat is specially made for the Greenlandic conditions and is one of the favorites among local hunters and fishermen.

We did a round tour of Nuuk fjord, where we first visited the Narsap Sermia glacier and Uummanaq island for whale watching. The last stop of the day was Qooqqut, where we did some fishing in the neighboring waters, and ended the day with a lovely dinner at Qooqqut Nuan. Nuuk Water Taxi fulfilled our day with the best service imaginable, providing smiles, laughter and an excellent cruise through Nuuk Fjord's waters!
