1st destination: Capital of Greenland
First, you will travel to Nuuk, colorful capital of Greenland located next to the second-largest fjord in Greenland! On your first day in Greenland, you will head out on the itinerary’s first tour, which takes you to Nuuk fjord!
2nd destination: The city by the Icebergs
Then you will travel beyond the Arctic Circle to Ilulissat in Disko Bay, where you will be discovering a world of icebergs and glaciers on three guided tours. First, you will be treated to an evening under the midnight sun on the UNESCO World Heritage Ilulissat Icefjord. Secondly, you will be exploring Ilulissat’s second UNESCO World Heritage Sermermiut Valley. Lastly, you will be sailing to the 3.5-kilometre-long glacier wall of Eqi in the north of Disko Bay.
As you will be above the Arctic Circle and beyond, you will be under the rays of the midnight sun – a natural phenomenon where the sun does not set, and there is daylight 24 hours a day. The phenomenon occurs from early June to the end of July. Still, if you depart out of this season, you are in for a treat of beautiful and long-lasting sunsets.

Day 1
Flight to Greenland and Fjord adventure
We bring you from Copenhagen, Denmark, to Nuuk, Greenland, on a 4,5 hour flight. Flying over Greenland on a clear sky day offers the most stunning natural sights of the Greenland Ice Sheet.
Departure from Copenhagen 08:20 AM.
After arrival, pick up your luggage and meet your guide in the arrival hall to transfer to your overnight stay at Hotel Hans Egede. Hotel is located in the city center, so it is the most convenient place to stay!
Right away you will join 2 hour sailing to Nuuk fjord. We will sail towards the famous Sermitsiaq mountain to see the Waterfall and enjoy beautiful views of Nuuk and Fjord. That will be a great introduction to Greenlandic sailing culture! Locals love sailing and the boat is the most used transportation method.
Day 2
Catch and eat in the Nuuk fjord
You will have the morning to enjoy Nuuk and at 15:30 (3:30 pm) we will depart from Nuuk on a Catch and Eat boat tour.
You will sail deep into Nuuk Fjord, find a good fishing spot, and try sea fishing. No worries if you are not into trying fishing you dont need to do it if you dont want to, we will catch enough fish for everyone.
After getting some fresh fish we will head to Qooqqut Nuan restaurant which is located in the most beautiful location in Nuuk fjord. This is the most popular place to eat in summer for locals and travelers.
For dinner, we will get to eat our own freshly caught fish prepared in a few different ways. After the dinner, we will head back to Nuuk, where we arrive around 21:00 (9:00 PM)
Day 3
Arriving in Disko bay- Ilulissat
Before your journey continues up the coast, by flight, breakfast, check-out, and airport transfer will start your day. Then, you will be boarding the flight to Ilulissat in Disko Bay.
Ilulissat is known for its otherworldly surroundings of enormous icebergs passing by the city year-round. The city is located by the fjord mouth of the world-renowned UNESCO world heritage, Ilulissat Icefjord. This fjord is filled with enormous icebergs originating from the Isua glacier, one of the world’s most active glaciers. The icebergs pass Ilulissat on their journey to the sea, creating the pristine scenery of gigantic icebergs just outside the town.
Arriving in Ilulissat, pick up your luggage and meet us outside for a transfer to Hotel Arctic. Here you will be accommodated for the next seven days.
Check-in is followed by an information meeting with our guide, who will provide you with an overview of the tour’s program, as well as additional excursion options.
In the evening, a lovely welcome dinner will be served in the hotel restaurant (drinks not included).
Day 4
Visiting UNESCO World Heritage by foot and by boat
Your 4th day in Greenland brings the UNESCO World Heritage, Sermermiut Valley, on an easy hike.
For centuries the valley has been occupied by different migrations of Inuit. The earliest occupation dates 4500 years back. You will be exploring the historic remains from the settlements in the company of a knowledgeable guide.
Your tour starts in Ilulissat with a short drive out of town. From here, you will follow a 1,5 km long wooden boardwalk that will take you through the valley. Described to be one of the most beautiful strolls in Ilulissat, you will walk with the view of the Icefjord in front of your and colourful tundra on each side of the boardwalk.
Arriving at Sermermiut settlements, explore the historic remains while listening to your knowledgeable guide tell the stories of the valley.
After the exploration, the tour continues with a short walk to the close by viewpoint, Naakkavik, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the scenic Ilulissat Icefjord.
In the evening you will join a Boat tour among the icebergs for 2,5 hours!
You will be treated to an evening of amazing sceneries of the UNESCO World Heritage, Ilulissat Icefjord. In a closed cabin boat, you venture out on the Icefjord get up close to the gigantic icebergs under the rays of the midnight sun. One of the most incredible sights to be found anywhere in the world!
Day 5
Whale watching in Disko bay
Every summer, different species of whales flock to the cold waters of Disko Bay to feast on the region’s large amount of krill. You will take advantage of this opportunity by heading out on a 3,5-hour whale safari with us.
The tour takes place in a comfortable boat with a closed cabin. Views and whale sightings can be enjoyed from inside through the panoramic windows or outside on the deck.
Where the tour takes you depends on where the whales are.
Day 6
Enjoying views of Eqi glacier
Yet another day brings you to yet another beautiful location.
The Disko Bay region is known for its Arctic wonders of active glaciers. One that you will get to experience on your 4th day in Greenland is the Eqi Glacier.
An amazing encounter with Greenland’s largest glacier wall awaits you on this full-day excursion.
The Eqi Glacier is located north of Ilulissat and is only accessible by boat.
From early morning, you will be sailing along the north shores of Disko Bay, passing the beautiful Bredebugt and the settlement of Oqaatsut. To reach the glacier, we enter the complex fjord system of Paakitsoq and sail through the Ataa Strait. The strait is known for its natural beauty of waterfalls and flying wildlife feasting off the land and sea.
Arriving at the glacier, gaze upon the immense beauty of the 3.5 km long glacier wall and hope that the ice retracts – a surreal and dramatic experience that will leave you stunned.
After a lunch overlooking the glacier, we return to Ilulissat the same way we came.
Day 7
Relax or try kayaking among the icebergs!
We have left one day open in the itinerary so you can choose what you would like to do the last day in Ilulissat!
If you don’t already have something in mind, we suggest a kayaking tour between the icebergs outside of Ilulissat. The tour takes place in stable double kayaks, with a supervising boat following on the side.
It is available in June, July and August. If it is your first time kayaking don't worry we have a great guide who will explain everything you need to know!
We will head out of Ilulissat and in between the many stranded and voyaging icebergs in the rays of the midnight sun. The sun illuminates the icebergs, creating a beautiful color play that turns the blue icebergs into orange. Whales are no strangers to these waters, so that we might come across the magnificent giants with some luck. The tour takes approximately 3 hours. This includes two hours on the water. This tour is not included in the package, why you must check the optional tour box in the booking process.
Please note: If you have any serious backpain or shoulder problems, you will not be able to partake in this excursion. This is for your own safety. Minimum age: 12 years old
Day 8
Saying goodbye to Greenland
The time has come to bid Greenland farewell. You will be heading back to Copenhagen, Denmark.
The first part of the day brings you to Nuuk by flight. In Nuuk, you will board the Atlantic flight back to Copenhagen.
Return flights arrive in Copenhagen 19:40 PM.
In case of any delays, we suggest that you book your connecting flight to your end destination the day after arriving in Copenhagen.

Trips to Greenland are always subject to weather conditions.
Delays and flight cancellations can happen. We therefore strongly recommend that you do not book onward international flights directly after your trip to Greenland. Give yourself at least one extra day to make an international connection.
We also recommend purchasing travel insurance that will cover any expenses should your flights be delayed or cancelled due to bad weather.
The airlines that fly to Greenland only allow 20 kg of checked-in baggage. If you go over this limit, there is a fee (often strictly enforced) for the extra weight.

It is important to bring cash in the form of Danish Krona to Greenland. While credit cards are accepted in larger locations (eg hotels, supermarkets), they may not be accepted elsewhere. Foreign currency is often not accepted.
There is a 4-hour time difference between Denmark and West Greenland.
