Sisimiut is the second largest city in Greenland and was founded in the 1764. For the last 250 years the city has undergone rapid development, which also is the reason why Holsteinsborg colony was created. The town is a melting pot for old and new and everything in between. With education, modern development and technology still coexist with the old ways of hunting. You will be taken through town, see where the locals sell their catch of the day and where the greenlandic sled dogs are situated, finally a visit to the local museum. You will get an entire picture of the history and development of Sisimiut.
Originally, the colony was at the plateau above the harbor, but today it has grown out of the mountainsides and into the country, so there are some great vantage points where we hold a photo stop.
Especially this tour gives a good overview of the city and it is more fun to move around on your own afterward.
The last stop would be at Aanaa´s house. Aanaa in Greenlandic means Grandmother. The hours are decorated as if it were Aanaa you are visiting. Find your inner explorer for this adventure! Check the booking availability by pressing ''Book Now'' above.Activities
