Explore the capital of Greenland (and the smallest capital in the world) Nuuk, that is surrounded by an amazing nature and city life where you meet Greenlanders fascinating mix of a traditional and modern way of life.
In many different restaurants, you can have Greenlandic and European inspired food in the menu. From fashion shops, you cannot leave without having anything in your bag. And the northern lights inspired cultural center, Katuaq, where you can drink your caffe latte while you enjoy the artwork from the local and international artists. Nuuk is definitely the capital of modern Greenland and still keeps growing. But the modern Nuuk will also show its past in this package, because you can still see some of the first buildings by the colonial harbour from the 1700s, including a visit to the National Museum of Greenland and the local museum right on the spot!
One of its many characteristics are the many opportunities to sail and experience things like seeing abandoned villages, taking pictures of fine icebergs in all shapes and sizes, watching whales and sailing into the second largest fjord system in the world.
This is an unforgettable tour, you’ll start to get to know Nuuk with a city sightseeing tour and eventually you can take a walk and explore Nuuk on your own.
The second day will be more focused on historical and cultural experiences, as you’ll visit the National Museum of Greenland to see umiaqs(Women’s boats), qajaqs(kayaks), mummies and many more ancient relics and interesting bits of history. After the visit to the museum you are going to sail and of course experience a little bit of the Greenlandic traditional culture yourself by going on a fishing tour followed by a visit to a restaurant with delicious food in the middle of nature, far from everything else. The next day you’ll go to the amazing Nuuk icefjord filled with icebergs from several glaciers.
This package also includes the opportunity to go hiking around the popular Quassussuaq mountain.
When you finally are in Nuuk and checked in to your hotel, you are going to start your very own fairytale adventure with a city sightseeing by bus or by car. After the tour you’ll have time to stretch your legs by taking a walk on your own and exploring Nuuk.
We’re starting the day by learning about the traditional Greenlandic culture, we are of course going to visit the National museum of Greenland to see umiaqs, qajaqs, mummies and much more. After seeing and learning about the Greenlandic culture are you going to experience a bit of it yourself, we are going to fish redfish and cod. The catch we’ll bring to the remote summer restaurant, where the fresh fish is going to made for you by skilled chefs.
We are sailing from Nuuk 8:00 AM and will sail 80 km (50 miles) into the fiord in about 2,5 hours (depends on conditions of ice). We are going to eat lunch while we are enjoying the view towards the glacier ‘Narsap Sermia’ in unbelievable silence where the only thing you hear is the ice that moves and breaks.
After lunch the trip goes to a former fishing and hunter village, Qoornoq, which is today the most popular summer camping place for locals in Nuuk area. On our way back to Nuuk we will sail nearby a waterfall, on the iconic Sermitsiaq mountain. We will be back in Nuuk afternoon 3:00 PM.
Today you can choose to add an extra experience of visiting a local home to go for coffee and cakes which we call 'kaffemik'! Kaffemik has existed since coffee was imported to Greenland, it quickly became the signature of any celebration to gather your friends and family and drink coffee together as well as often cakes or local delicacies. This is a super cozy experience which will give you insights to the everyday life of locals and possibly even hear some interesting stories from their life here in Greenland.

(Optional) Hiking around Quassussuaq is especially popular among the local nature lovers, and today you can go hiking like locals around Quassussuaq with a professional guide. Quassussuaq is right beside a higher mountain Ukkusissat, which also is a popular place to hike among locals. The tour gives an insight into how tough and beautiful nature can be.
(Optional) Play golf in the arctic, yes we actually have an opportunity for you to go play golf on greenways here in Greenland.

Inuk Hostel: This hostel is situated with an amazing view to the iconic mountain of Nuuk, a little outside of the city center.
