Come along to the beautiful Point 660, a place recently uncovered by ice and seen by few. At Point 660 you will find the most scenic view imaginable of the Icecap slowly descending into the colorful newly ice-free tundra. This is a tour, for you who would like to explore the Greenland Icecap with your eyes, feet, and curiosity!
Your adventure starts with you and your fellow explorers traveling along the remote dirt road out of Kangerlussuaq. Kangerlussuaq is situated inland along a long fiord and therefore has a climate unique from the rest Greenland.
Enroute to Point 660 you might be lucky to spot one of the many wildlife from the car. When you and your fellow explorers arrive at Point 660, breathe in the fresh air and gaze upon the enchanting and mythical Greenland Icecap, that ranges as far as the eye can see. The dirt road goes right up to the vast and majestic inland ice, giving you an excellent chance to explore it with your feet on the ice.
You can also add other attractions to this tour in the booking process.

Additional Information

The departure of this tour is guaranteed, even for one person.
Please select a time for pick-up, even if you're flexible all day.
If you choose the combined tour to Point 660 and the Russel glacier, the duration of the tour is 5 hours.
From June - August, it is critical that you bring a mosquito net as Kangerlussuaq is a paradise for mosquitos.
We recommend combining this tour with a visit to the Russell Glacier as they are in the same direction. The combined tour takes 5-6 hours. The Russell Glacier is where you can see a giant ice wall, and at Point 660 you can actually walk on the ice sheet and get on a vantage point to see the vastness of the ice, no equipment needed.

Guide was very nice and knowledgeable. He offered to make a few extra stops, e.g. stop by sled dogs. He prepared coffee and sandwiches for a small snack which was cool. I had a good time!
Stefan Duerr –
The Guide Evald was great. He stopped at every viewpoint, we wanted.

It was the end of March when I had this tour and we had so much fun! The guide was very friendly, replying all the questions we had, and it has been delightful to step on the Icecap!

Amazing!
Awesome!
We had a great time in Kangerlussuaq for 1 day with Evald as our guide.
We booked online in less than 24 hours before our scheduled tour but guide to greenland made sure that we were accommodated well. Evald our local guide was very efficient, funny, knowledgeable and speaks good english

That is amazing tour you must do in Kangerlussuaq!
With a short stop over in Kangerlussuaq we were able to do both of the tours Russell glacier and see Point 660. We saw Musk ox and raindeer on the way and stop to take pictures as well! Loved our local guide and flexibility of this tour.

Excellent mission.
We were a bit worried initially when our guide wasn’t at the airport occasioning much panicked phone calls and e-mails on our part. However, he did find us and we had a superb drive out to the ice-cap and the glacier topped off with a bacon and egg sandwich and a bonus Northern lights on the way back.
Thank you for our guide!

A very intimate and fantastic trip with just us (2persons) and our guide Eval. Lots of info on the landscape and good talks about Greenland – very recommendable.

Fantastisk tur. Vores guide, Ewald var så velvidende, sjov og behagelig. En tur der virkelig kan anbefales. Hvis man laver et stop i lufthavnen i 4 timer inden afgang til næste by, er der fin tid til denne tur. 5 stjerner herfra.

My parents and I had a great trip to Point 660 with a wonderful guide! A nice person, who really made the trip a great experience. The trip up to Point 660 is just as great as the actual ice cap. All in all a trip we’d highly recommend 🙂
