Our expedition begins with a kayak journey to Oqaatsut, a small settlement north of Ilulissat, where you will gain insight into the history and local life of this isolated community. Setting up camp in true expedition style, we enjoy meals prepared on storm kitchens and sleep under the open arctic sky.

As we paddle through the bay, you will be surrounded by towering icebergs, rugged mountain views, and perhaps even sightings of seals or whales. Our route includes a stop at a scenic waterfall and mountain ridges with sweeping vistas. For a night, we will stay in a classic Greenlandic hunting cabin on the coast, drinking pure, ice-melt water directly from the stranded icebergs and fully embracing the remote beauty of the Greenland wilderness. Those who wish can try fishing from the shore or kayak for an extra taste of local life.

• Min. 2 people - max. 6 people
• Please inform us in advance if you have diabetes, asthma, or cardio problems. Please inform us if you have any medical condition that could affect you during the activity.
• To paddle our kayaks, you must be a minimum of 150 cm tall.
• You must have some previous kayak experience to join this tour and be able to kayak for 4-5 hours
• It is not advisable to row the kayak if you have shoulder or back issues.
• Remember to bring a bottle of water, sunglasses, sunscreen, and maybe a hat to protect you against the sun.
• We recommend a warm inner layer (wool preferred!)
• We have drysuits, neoprene shoes , and mittens ready for you

Package tours can be sold out more than half a year in advance (note that Guide to Greenland does not include international flights in packages, except where indicated from Iceland or Denmark).

Day trips may sell out closer to your arrival date, but for popular destinations, certain dates/times can also sell out months in advance. We recommend that you secure all of your experiences by booking them well in advance of your trip.
