Day 1Welcome To Kangerlussuaq!
First day of your 4-day unforgettable days in Greenland.
You’ll land at Kangerlussuaq Airport and join your guide for a meet and greet
At 19.00 you are invited to a two-course dinner at ‘The Rowing Club’ - a restaurant that serves meals and buffets made from Greenlandic commodities.
Before going to sleep, we suggest that you take advantage of the midnight sun by exploring Kangerlussuaq town.
Day 2Ice-Trekking On The Greenland Ice Sheet
Your second day in Greenland brings you on top of the Greenland Ice Sheet for ice-trekking.
Breakfast is served between 07.30-09.00 AM. The afternoon is at your leisure. Take a small hike around town or on the dirt roads out of town. Wildlife in Kangerlussuaq town is not uncommon, why you often see caribou and muskoxen roaming around. No matter where you go in Kangerlussuaq, you are sure to enjoy amazing views.
By 13/1 PM o’clock, you will board our tour bus to Point 660, from where you will ascend onto the Greenland Ice Sheet for an ice trek. En route, you can enjoy views of the beautiful valley, Sandflugtsdal, with its turquoise glacial river and rolling arctic tundra.
Along the way, we will talk about the history and features of the area around Kangerlussuaq and keep a sharp eye out for the Musk Ox, reindeer, arctic hare and arctic foxes that are frequently found along this route. Once we arrive at Point 660, we will hike up onto the Ice Sheet following a path that has been prepared through the glacial moraine. The width of this track shows you how much the ice has retreated in the years since the road was built, and unfortunately, it is growing wider with each passing year. On the Icecap itself, we have breathtaking views of this enormous sheet of ice that stretches as far as the eye can see. You will have plenty of time to wander around (carefully), explore, and take pictures before we return to Kangerlussuaq via the same route.
You will be back in Kangerlussuaq by 6/7 PM.
Day 3Into The Wild
Your third day in Greenland brings you to the sea for a full day of sightseeing.
This tour really has it all. You will be sailing, hiking and barbecuing in the 190 kilometres long Kangerlussuaq fjord, while being surrounded by unique Arctic sceneries of glacial shaped landscapes, icebergs originating from the Greenland Ice Sheet and wildlife.
After crossing the fjord by boat, you will join your guide for a hike among the mountains. Hiking in Greenland is unlike anything else - you will be surrounded by Arctic tundra for endless miles. You will sense the infinite size of the Greenlandic wilderness, a place where the elements of nature are the dominant force.
We round off the excursion with a delicious barbecue consisting of Greenlandic commodities.
Day 4Wildlife Safari
You can enjoy breakfast before checking out of your room, between 7.30 AM and 09.00 AM. At 09.30 to 11.00, you are invited on a tundra safari, to discover the large variety of Greenlandic fauna that lives in the Kangerlussuaq area. Commonly seen on these tours are musk oxen, caribou, arctic hare and polar foxes.
We will send you off on your journey back to where you come from or on your further Greenland exploration.
