Greenlandic Tapas On the Icefjord | Ilulissat | Disko Bay

Come aboard to taste authentic and traditional Greenlandic food on this 2.5-hour boat tour to Ilulissat Icefjord! You will have the opportunity to taste authentic Greenlandic tapas consisting of local delicacies caught by the fishermen and hunters from Disko Bay, while you enjoy the spectacular surroundings of Ilulissat Icefjord.

The tour departs from Ilulissat. Before setting out to sea we provide you with the necessary equipment to make this experience the most comfortable and safe!

Once you jumped into one of our floating suits we set out to sea. Arriving by the iceberg bank we slow down the boat, so you can enjoy your tasting of Greenlandic food, while we slowly cruise you around the Icefjord.

In every direction you look are massive icebergs originating from the Isua glacier within the UNESCO heritage site. The icebergs strand by the entrance to the fjord - creating the scenic and unfathomable setting of towering icebergs. As the icebergs melt, they release small bubbles of air, that create a crackling noise. So not only are your tastebuds on an adventure but so are your sight and hearing!

The menu varies from time to time depending on availability and season. But typically you could expect smoked halibut or charr, shrimp, dried fish, and commodities alike!

• Our biggest size of floatation suits is XXXL, we do however only have one in this size. We have two children sizes 160 and 140, but we have had children smaller than that join the trip in their own very very warm clothes and with our lifewests that goes down to a minimum of 10 kg.

The earlier you book your trip, the better the prices will be, and the more likely you will be able to book the tour you want for the dates/times you want.

Package tours can be sold out more than half a year in advance (note that Guide to Greenland does not include international flights in packages, except where indicated from Iceland or Denmark).

Day trips may sell out closer to your arrival date, but for popular destinations, certain dates/times can also sell out months in advance. We recommend that you secure all of your experiences by booking them well in advance of your trip.
