Explore the remote sulfur and iron desert of North Greenland, on this 2 1/2 hour private charter tour, departing from Uummannaq! You will be uncovering an interesting geological landscape of the sulfur and iron-rich earth. Not only is the landscape geological interesting, but it is also very beautiful, as the orange and beige coloured earth beautifully contrast the Arctic landscape of mountains, icebergs and sea.

From Uummannaq harbour we sail out between the icebergs in the fjord. En route, there are great opportunities to see birds, seals and maybe whales.

Arriving at the desert, we will go ashore to explore the earth and sand-yellow coloured area and enjoy the amazing scenery. The area holds many unique stones, some of which are more than 1.5 billion years old.

Once you have explored the desert, we return to the boat and sail back to Uummannaq. On our way home, we have the same opportunities to experience the wildlife and icebergs, and although there is no guarantee from nature, it is rare that we do not see anything exciting besides the beautiful mountains around the fjords.

Please note that the price is for chartering the whole boat for this excursion.

If you are looking for an extraordinary Arctic landscape, that differs from anything you have seen in Greenland, then book this boat charter to uncover the scenic landscape of North Greenland's iron and sulfur covered desert. Select your preferred date and click Book Now to reserve your boat charter.
