Embark on a quick puffin safari adventure by boat to an island near Nuuk, where we can see a colony of Puffins also known as Sea parrots as well as Razorbills (a type of auk) in their natural habitat.
These unique birds have colorful beaks and have been a favorite theme in Greenlandic art for a long time. Create your own art with your camera taking photos or making movies. The crew will be very careful not to get too close and move slowly as not to disturb the birds nesting and trying to hatch their eggs.
On the way to the colony, we might be lucky enough to see seals poking their curious head out of the water, and we’ll sail past the abandoned settlement of Narsaq which you can see from a distance.
These waters are also whale territory but there is, of course, no guarantee. We might even see some of the National Bird, the Sea eagle, as there are plenty of them in the Nuuk area.Â
Whether you’re a tourist looking for a quick and wonderful adventure or If you need a nature break after work, this is the perfect 3-hour tour for you.
Enjoy the nature and views onboard as we serve a delicious hot cup of coffee or tea.

3 reviews for Puffin Safari | Nuuk
Rated 5 out of 5
Laura Revsbech Winther –
It was an amazing trip with a stunning view of the puffins. After an hour boat ride from Nuuk we arrived to some small, uninhabited islands. Their – in the middle of nowhere sorrounded by a magnificent nature – a puffin colony was hiding.
Accompanying the view our host/guide served us, tea, coffee and cookies.
Hence, I can highly recommend going on this trip

Great tour! We sailed to the small island to see these beautiful birds. My advice if you have your own binoculars take them on the tour! They had pair of binoculars on the boat bit it is always nice to have your own.
Also bring your zoom lenses if you want to catch some great pictures of puffins.
