Where will you stay along the way? Qaqortoq · Narsaq · Igaliku

We invite you on an unforgettable journey through South Greenland, combining colourful remote settlements, ancient Viking ruins, towering glaciers and fjords filled with icebergs. Along the way, you will experience both Greenland’s spectacular nature and its fascinating cultural heritage, including UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Qaqortoq – Colourful Greenlandic charm:

Explore the biggest towns in South Greenland, with colourful houses, a lively harbour, local museums, artisan shops and spectacular views across the fjord.

Narsaq – Mountains, fjords and ice:

Travel by RIB boat among spectacular icebergs before arriving in peaceful Narsaq, surrounded by mountains, green valleys and fjords.

Qassiarsuk – Viking history-UNESCO heritage:

Discover Brattahlid, the settlement founded by Erik the Red, and explore the reconstructed Viking longhouse and Thjodhild’s Church. The surrounding Kujataa landscape is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Igaliku – An idyllic historic settlement:

Walk the historic King’s Road to beautiful Igaliku, home to the ruins of Gardar, the religious centre of Norse Greenland. Its green hills, fjords and traditional stone houses make it one of the most charming settlements in the region.

Tasiusaq – The Iceberg Bay:

Visit the remote Tasiusaq farm, where only a handful of people live beside Sermilik Fjord, often surrounded by icebergs from the Eqaloruutsit Glacier. Enjoy a picnic here and, optionally, kayak among the icebergs.

Guided Glacier Trekking:

Walk across ancient glacier ice wearing crampons, explore striking ice formations and crevasses, and learn about South Greenland’s glaciers from an experienced mountain guide.

The trip takes place from June to July, when Greenland is at its summer best. Green valleys, colourful wildflowers, towering glaciers and bright white icebergs create a spectacular Arctic landscape, while long summer days are perfect for exploring remote settlements and ancient Viking heritage.
