Experience Nuuk from above on this 4-hour guided hike to the summit of Lille Malene, offering panoramic views of Nuuk, the fjord and Greenland’s backcountry.

Rising directly behind the city, Lille Malene, also known as Quassussuaq, is Nuuk’s everyday mountain, close enough to reach in half a day, but steep enough to make the summit feel earned. The route climbs approximately 430 metres (1,411 feet) along the regular trail, with a steady pace and several short, steeper sections along the way. The hike terrain is rocky and does not always follow the path; we make our own!

From the summit, you’ll be rewarded with beautiful views across Nuuk Fjord, the signature peak of Sermitsiaq, the open coastline, and the vast mountain landscapes stretching into Greenland’s backcountry. On a clear day, you can see the Atlantic on one side and the inland mountains on the other.

Along the way, your guide will share stories about the landscape, the mountain, and life in Nuuk, while making sure you have time to stop and take in the views.
