The flight starts from Ilulissat Airport. The pilot will give you a safety briefing and orientate you about the planned route and flight conditions. On the way to the plane, the pilot seats the participants. You might be seated in the front with the pilot, or at the back together with your fellow explorers. Regardless of where you are seated, there is a guarantee of great views from the large windows in the plane. Onboard the pilot goes through the safety instructions and asks you to take on your headset, through which you can communicate.

Immediately after take-off, you will see Greenland from one of the very best angles. We will fly north to the amazing Eqi glacier, which is a very productive glacier that calves huge icebergs every day. The edge of Eqi glacier is a four-kilometre-wide wall of ice. From here we fly to the Greenland Icecap, which covers most of the country's surface. Imagine only seeing the ice with amazing structures, filling the whole horizon. We will continue over the tundra, where the colours change from white to all kinds of green and rusty colours. Here we might be lucky to spot caribou or musk oxen. But hold on, we are not finished yet. The tour continues back to Ilulissat and the UNESCO World Heritage of Ilulissat Icefjord, over the Isua Glacier and the moraine edge of Kangia, where you can see the traces of rocks being pushed forward by the ice.

When flying over the Icefjord you will see the endless stream of icebergs in all thinkable shapes and sizes. Some as big as islands, drifting quietly to the sea. You might also be lucky to spot a whale or other Arctic wildlife while flying around the area. To see all this by plane is a lifetime experience, that you should not miss when travelling in Greenland.

The minimum number of people to do this tour is 4 but we will try our best to find a way and to find more people so you can go on the tour. Because of that and the weather, your tour can be moved to another time (if you agree). You can still go on the tour but you will need to pay for 4 seats. The final decision will be made close to departure time.
