From the Ice Cap to Unesco Heritage - 9 days | Kangerlussuaq | West Greenland

This is a true wilderness trekking trip! We will only be sleeping in tents, and carry everything we need for the whole trip in our backpacks.  We will be hiking almost the entire time within the new Unesco World Heritage landscape of Aasivissuit- Nipisat. The hike will go through very untouched nature, and we are likely to encounter animals such as Reindeer, Musk-Oxes, Polar Foxes and numerous bird species.  Along the way we pass numerous lakes and small rivers, so bring your fishing rod if you feel like. We may then catch a nice snack in the evening. However this is not primarily a fishing trip, this is primarly a hiking trip, where there is possibilities for fishing in the evening and on the rest days. From Kangerlussuaq airport we will grab a taxi eastwards to the ice sheet. From there we will start our hike northwards with spectacular views of the Greenland ice cap. After hiking northwards for a day, we will turn to the west and hike for 4 days through the pristine wilderness and end up at the Unesco world heritage site of Aassivisuit. Here we will have a rest day, with possibilities of fishing, small hiking excursions to see the cultural heritage at this site, or just relaxing and enjoying life! Together with a experienced Arctic Nature Guide, you will on this trek have a unique chance to experience the untouched nature of Greenland, but also ancient Unesco cultural heritage of the Inuits. Hiking, Kayaking & Camping | Musk Ox Lake | Kangerlussuaq

Get face to face with one of Greenland's big mammals - the musk ox. Join on this ultimate wildlife experience and get close to musk oxen while kayaking on a big lake.  Camp Musk Ox Lake offers a true wilderness experience, you will be hiking, kayaking, and camping far away from the civilisation, in this place that can only be reached by foot. During the two days of the camp we will be paddling and look out for opportunities to get close to the musk ox. The musk oxen often do not see the kayaker as a threat and we might get as close as 10 meters from the animals without them fleeing. A thrill of a lifetime!   This area is the territory of the musk ox and people rarely visit. Here the wildlife has perfect conditions with dry South facing slopes, a windy highland plateau for hot days and wet fertile meadows in close vicinity. In order to make the most of the trip we also go ashore from the lake, to hike to hilltops, so we truly can see the greatness of the country - from there you will be able to see the vast Ice Cap, mountains, valleys, rivers, and wildlife nearby the river delta. We try our hardest to protect our beautiful environment, therefore we always eat as locally as possible. The meals of the trip will therefore in a great extent be based on locally hunted meat from musk ox, caribou, snow hare, and maybe fish - that we usually supply with whatever wild herbs or mushrooms we can harvest in the nature.   Pack your hiking boots and join on this wildlife adventure in Kangerlussuaq. See the availability by pressing 'Choose a date' above, and book your trip today.
