Nuuk is the administrativ town with many job opportunities and therefore are people moving to the capital while the young ones also move to Nuuk to study.
On the picture above is the old part of Nuuk in the front, with the new in the back. There is even a newer part beneath the mountain far back, which is appr. 20 drive from the center.
This is the old building for the university of Greenland. Today has the university moved into bigger and more modern buildings, but they still come and celebrate anniversaries etc here with the beautiful scenery.
This picture is taken from Qinngorput, the newest part of Nuuk to my friend´s son´s 1 year old birthday.
We call it a "kaffemik" when there is any kind of celebration, birthday, anniversary, wedding, baptism etc. there is an open house with lots of food and cakes.
October in Nuuk can be rainy, snowy, stormy but also nice and sunny.
The evenings can also be very colorful with northern lights.
